Haverhill Pride Achieves Official 501(c)(3) Status, Appoints Meg Adams as Treasurer, and Announces Full June Event Lineup
HAVERHILL, MA — May 21, 2026 — Marking a major milestone for local LGBTQ+ advocacy, the Haverhill Pride Collective, Inc. has achieved complete fiscal independence after receiving its official 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The milestone marks a successful transition from its foundational partnership with Creative Haverhill, which served as the organization’s fiscal sponsor during the application process.
Achieving 501(c)(3) status allows Haverhill Pride to operate as an independent, sustainable entity, expanding its ability to secure corporate sponsorships, apply for federal and foundational grants, and accept tax-deductible donations to fund local LGBTQ+ programming year-round without the need for a fiscal sponsorship.
To shepherd this new era of financial independence, Haverhill Pride has welcomed Meg Adams as Treasurer. Adams is a seasoned nonprofit accounting and grant management professional recognized for building transparent, sustainable financial systems. Her background in translating complex financials into community impact will guide the organization's long-term growth.
“The Haverhill Pride Collective could not have reached this important milestone without the hard work and dedication of our volunteer team,” shares President Nathan Phillips. “I’m thrilled to welcome Meg to this crew of hard working individuals, and excited for the greater impact we’ll be able to deliver to Haverhill’s LGBTQIA+ community now that we’re officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.”
The announcement comes as the city prepares for a vibrant lineup of celebrations, leading up to the flagship Second Annual Pride Parade and Celebration on June 20.
