Annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony & Community Reception
Join the Haverhill Pride Collective and the City of Haverhill as we officially kick off Pride Month. We are gathering to raise the Pride flag, celebrate our vibrant community, and honor the shared history that connects us all. Our annual flag raising is a beautiful tradition of visibility, unity, and civic pride. This year, we are thrilled to bring the community together at historic Winnekenni Castle for the ceremony, followed immediately by a celebratory social hour down the road at Roma Restaurant.

As part of this year's ceremony, we are honored to welcome filmmaker, award-winning public historian, and Lynn resident Jim Moser as our keynote speaker. Jim is the author of Queer Heroes of the North Shore: Four Centuries of Love, Rebellion, and Survival. His incredible research directly challenges historical erasure, uncovering an immersive lineage of resistance and everyday bravery right here on the Massachusetts coast. From hidden regional archives to modern trailblazers, Jim’s work connects us directly with our queer ancestry. He reminds us that the universal human needs for belonging, purpose, and community are what bind us all together.
Immediately following the ceremony, the celebration moves down the hill to Roma Restaurant. Join your neighbors for a wonderful community social hour and buffet. It is the perfect opportunity to grab a bite, connect with old friends, meet new ones, and celebrate the official start of Haverhill Pride season together.
